Gather your ideas

Before you draft
your first pattern.

Do I need pattern making experience?

Gabarit Pattern provides the tools to draft and prepare your pieces. It does not design a garment for you: a grounding in pattern making will help you construct and check your designs.

What does the free plan include?

You get the pattern making tools and exports, with up to 3 drafts (Sketch), 3 patterns and 3 moodboards stored in your account. No credit card is needed. Premium, at €20 per month, lets you keep unlimited creations.

What is the difference between a draft and a pattern?

A draft, called Sketch in the software, is where you construct the geometry from your measurements. A pattern brings together the garment pieces, their seam allowances and markings, ready to prepare the cut and assembly.

How do I work with several sizes?

Enter the measurements for each size in a table, then use them to construct your draft. Elements linked to those measurements adjust to the selected size.

Which files can I export?

The cutting layout exports to scale as SVG or DXF. The size guide exports as a PDF. Check with your workshop which formats its software accepts and which scale settings to use.

Does my workshop need an account?

To view a shared pattern in Gabarit Pattern, the recipient must sign in to their account. You can invite them by email before they register. You can also send exported files for them to open in their own tools.
